70cl / 37.50% - In 2015, Italy's Caffo distillery celebrated its 100th anniversary, and this expression of its deliciously aromatic Vecchio Amaro Del Capo liqueur was created in celebration. Following ancient tradition, an array of Calabrian flowers, herbs, and fruits is infused with a wine-based spirit, before being treated to generous aging in Slavonian oak. After this, the liqueur is allowed to mellow for many moons in storehouses, before being awoken and treated to further oak aging before bottling. The result is a rewardingly complex sipper with layer upon layer of bitter herbs, sweet fruit, and oaken spice. Unlike the classic expression which is best served extra cold, its recommended that this one is enjoyed at room temperature, so you can appreciate all those subtle nuances.
