Clematis ‘The President’ is a tough and attractive climber. It is notable for its large, single violet flowers which sit atop glossy, dark green foliage. The beautiful star-shaped flowers of this Clematis will normally bloom at the end of Spring and into the Summer and can also bloom a second round of flowers at the end of the Summer. Its rather compact nature means it’s a great candidate for pot or container planting, as it is easy to care for and manage and the hanging vines create a beautiful display. Plant in retentive, well-drained soil. Keep base and roots cool and shaded and top in full or partial sun. partial sun is preferable as the flowers can fade, losing some of their vibrant colour under the constant heat.
