Overview

Geranium Rozanne was voted the Royal Horticultural Society's Plant of the Century at the 100th Chelsea Flower Show. The best new plant in the last 100 years, as voted by the gardening public too. These spectacular plants will form a compact bush of lush foliage, and produce prolific, long-lasting displays from June to October. The beautiful, saucer-shaped, blue with white centre flowers contrast beautifully with the rich green foliage. As summer fades, the leaves turn from fiery orange, to red, then brown in a glorious late display. A hardy perennial, Geranium Rozanne is perfect for borders, easy ground cover and patio containers get yours while you can. It really is one of the easiest no-fuss, no maintenance perennials, rewarding you with amazing displays over 5 months. Specifications Supplied as an established plant in a 2L pot ready for immediate planting Ultimate height 30cm (12in) tall x 60cm (24in) wide Availability: April to October Planting time: February to November Flowering time: May to October Top Tips Snip off faded flowers at the base or shear the tops of the plants back to new growth in order to stimulate reblooming and freshen the foliage. Care Information Planting Advice for your Geranium Rozanne: Before planting, prepare the soil by digging over and removing any weeds. Incorporate some well-rotted manure to enrich the soil if necessary. Knock the plant from its container. Look at the roots - if they are circling around the compost, it is best to tease them out. To do this, push your fingers into the root ball along the bottom edge and pull. Do this in a couple of places. This should encourage the roots to spread into the surrounding soil. Next use a trowel or spade to create a hole just deep and wide enough to set in the root ball. The aim is to bury just the roots, leaving the bases of the stems (when in growth in summer) or the shoots (in spring) above ground. Firm back around the soil, using your hand for small clumps and your heel on larger areas. Water in well to settle the soil and prevent desiccation. Aftercare Advice for Geranium 'Rozanne': Prefers compost-enriched soil that stays moist. If planting straight out, keep well-watered until established.Geraniums are herbaceous perennials and are easy to grow and fuss-free. They need minimal maintenance and are also generally pest and disease resistant. Once established, they're drought tolerant and even slugs, snails and rabbits leave them alone. Pruning Geranium 'Rozanne': A haircut with shears after flowering is all the pruning that is required. Doesn't normally need dividing but plants can be split in spring or autumn if needed.
