Regular watering is required when first planted until the root system is established but then it will only require watering during very dry periods. Planting Can be planted all year round as long as the ground is not frozen or waterlogged.. Dig a hole approx 2.5 times the size of the rootball. The hole should be just deep enough to accomodate the rootball of the plant. If planting multiple plants, space them around 12 inches apart. Place the plant into the hole, backfill with soil, firm lightly and prune back the plant to 6-10 inches above the ground. Add some compost to the backfilled soil and surrounding area but avoid fertilising the plant for at least 3 months after planting. Once they are established you can fertilise with an all purpose fertiliser once every 1-2 months during spring and summer.
