There really is something special and iconic about Old English Shrub Roses, which is the term for the old-fashioned type of classic rose with a very filled centre, their petals making the most remarkable patterns. New breeding over many years has made them much easier to grow in all gardens - big or small - either in larger pots or in borders and beds.
These varieties have been bred to have both a good fragrance, and superb disease resistance - not always possible with roses, but our growers have managed it! Best of all it is a repeat flowerer, and will bloom for 4-5 months with little dead-heading, although you may wish to keep them tidy.
Give them pride of place in your borders where you can enjoy the lovely blooms and perhaps cut a few for a vase. Theses roses are also suitable for container growing so you can enjoy on the patio too.
Much easier to grow and look after than commonly thought, to prune, just remove any dead, dying, damaged and diseased stems and also deadhead regularly. Traditionally, you would cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn\'t necessary, and dont worry about pruning too much - roses are very resilient and will grow back.
Each collection contains 4 bare-root, dormant bushes of the very best, proven garden performing roses, 1 each of 4 different colours pink, apricot and yellow and red. All of these roses are perfect for pots or borders, reaching approximately 100cm tall and wide, so are great for smaller gardens.
Weve also included a set of 4 of our infinity 11 inch diameter planters. These black plastic, UV stable frost resistant planters have a black copper effect finish, and are wonderfully decorative to set your roses off beautifully.
